My Story

Born and raised in Kolkata — a city that taught me to begin, and begin again.

Kolkata shaped my values of hard work, resilience and entrepreneurship. My journey began long before my current business — before marriage, I ran my own travel agency for five years.

Though I stepped away after marriage, the dream of creating something of my own never left me. Deep within, I always knew I would return to entrepreneurship when the right opportunity came.

In 2010 — with the blessings of my parents, the unwavering support of my husband Sunil Modi, the love of my son Mehul Modi, and the cherished blessings of my late mother-in-law — I embarked on the journey that transformed my life.

Entrepreneurship, for me, is not just about building a business — it is about creating opportunities.

Like a necklace strung bead by bead, every chapter of my life was strung on the same thread — the belief that I would build something of my own.

The first venture

I ran my own travel agency for five successful years — my first taste of building something from nothing, and proof to myself that I could.

After marriage I stepped away from business — but never from the dream. I carried it quietly, waiting for the right moment to begin again.

The new beginning

With my family's blessings, I entered the world of jewellery — and founded Swarnim, a wholesale house for premium real-look diamond and Kundan Jadau imitation jewellery.
